I love writing songs and performing them. I wrote my first song about my mother in about 1968. But I am afflicted with respiratory problems tat I can't find a cure for. These recordings were made during the last few years, 24-25 when I had a little money to spare. Thank you for dropping by to listen to these songs of mine.
Castor Street Blues, by Michael Aitken. Instrumental (2000)
Michael aitken c 2025
Castor Street is the name of the street outside. This was the first time I used a music programme, it was one of the first ones out, and was very simple and easy to use with just the standard midi instruments. I would love to hear your comments.
Assylum Wind, by Michael Aitken, Song recorded 2024
Michael Aitken c 2025
Assylum Wind is about hopelessness. It could be about how I used to work in a bakery in Hednesford and finished work before the buses started running. Walking home in the dark across the council rubbish dump near my old housing estate. It could be about anything like that.
Dance Among your Enemies. Song recorded 2024
Michael Aitken c 2026
I was thinking of the life of the biblical King David when he was being hunted down by King Saul plus the start of the Ukraine war. It's about a soldier who sneeks into the middle of the enemy camp and starts to dance.
I'm not your Wicker Man, by Michael Aitken
Michael Aitken c 2026
This of course refers to the film of the same name. Witchcraft is a real. Oh Jehovah God, keep them away from me.
Yolanda: by Michael Aitken
Michael Aitken, 2026
Yolanda is real person. I came across her WP site when I also had a WP site (now ended). Many people admired her courage. She was blogging about living with her serious health health problems. She lives somewhere in Stockholm.
How can you treat your daughter like that: by Michael Aitken
Michael Aitken c 2026
There was a year when the newspapers began to report on honour killings amongst the Asian community, where a father murdered his daughter for going out with a boyfriend from another culture.
Australia House, by Michael Aitken
C Michael Aitken, 2026
This is about a dream I had about the death of my mother. In the dream I'm flying all over Australia trying to find her. I suspect that the term "down under", used in England to refer to Australia, has something to do with it.
The Winds of Time, by Michael Aitken
C Michael aitken, 2026
This tells how ordinary men are lost to the winds of time.
Lesley's Song, by Michael Aitken
C Michael Aitken, 2026
When I was at Art School in 1970 I think there was one troubled girl who was always dealing with her father issues. They apparently fought over religion. Now she is an artist living somewhere in Cardiff.
American Guns by Michael Aitken
C Michael Aitken 2026
This is about the gun laws in America. About how a week doesn't pass by without a shooting of inocnt people and about how what happens in America is replicated across the world.
