My living room; Nebuchadnezzar, from W. Blake

1981-82. Van Gogh

1981-2. I was trying to make a sculptural head from Van Gogh's self portraits in clay on a wooden crate that i covered in a cloth to keep the clay moist; then I had the idea to draw it as a still life in pastel on grey paper. It was a way to preserve what I had done for otherwise the clay would hve dried up any and got thrown away.

The Covid Patient

The Covid Patient: During the covid outbreak, I was afraid for a friend who wore the mask over the mouth but not the nose like many other people, I thought - what's the point of wearing a mask at all. Out of my fears I began some sketches and finally chose this drawing. Later on a nurse  from Whitechapel hospital visited me because of my COPD aggravated by asthma  and I gave it to her, being very grateful generally to her and the NHS service. She grabbed it and ran. I didn't get her name.
